The iPhone 4: The Review by a Teen.

15 Aug

WARNING.

I have decided to go on and post this iPhone 4 review though it isn’t complete. Will probably do a part 2, but that depends if I am motivated or not. You can choose to read this based on my opinion, or you can go to some other websites to check out a more professional review. I am just a teenager, and if you are looking for a review from an adult this isn’t really the place. But just read it to check it out, I guess?

Thursday, 29th July, 10.30PM.

My father and I have reached Plaza Singapura after 15 minutes of travelling. A part of me had no idea of why I was going to the city at that point of time. I still had school the next day!

[You can view some of the pictures at Holly Jean.]

When we reached the queue outside Plaza Singapura, I estimated that there were at least 30-40 people ahead of me. That was really little compared to the Singtel and M1 queues. Looked around for live-feeds online and I heard that there were at least 100+ people in the other locations – Marina Bay Sands for Singtel, Paragon for M1. I don’t really know much about M1, but someone said that Singtel is charging $1.99 for a bottle of water if you are thirsty in the queue. I was at Starhub, and they gave out free bottles of mineral water and muffins. Now Singtel, no one really cares about how early your first customer got there (6AM). Customer Service Award goes to Starhub, for now.

AT LAST, they are letting those in the queue go in to confirm their orders and get the ticket number. Mine was 5038. Oh well, 38 people before me, but I think some people were a bit delayed as they had problems, so whatever.

Hung around, and finally it turned 12! Then shit happens.

The queue-number system screwed up – badly. Well I wasn’t really affected since, I don’t know I just stood there and my father did all the talking. A few people were upset. And when I looked out, the queue was like GINORMOUS long. Well then it was quickly rectified. Oh and I saw a White iPhone 4 and it was HIDEOUS. I don’t know why people even want to buy it. It doesn’t look as nice as it did! But it was a test handset so it wasn’t for sale.

Then since my father talked to like 190238109238912309 different people enquiring about the queue system thing, we managed to collect the iPhone 4 before a lot of other people. PUSH FOR WHAT YOU WANT.

Our CSO was really kind and friendly! I don’t know her name though. :\ Got things done in around 20 minutes as she had to manually fill in the Shareplus termination form for I don’t know what.

Okay then we went home and I was playing with the phone on the car. Took some pictures, and they were quite good! The phone became my mom’s one, although it was registered under my name or something I can’t remember argh.’

Paparazzi trying to make me pose

14 Aug

Featured in the new Step Up installment – Step Up 3D, Flo Rida‘s contribution to the movie is nonetheless spectacular.

You may not like him well enough, but this song is so catchy you will probably not even know he’s there because you are so distracted by the beats oh man.

Well, this song is produced by David Guetta, the one who also did many other really terrific songs like When Love Takes Over, One Love etc. He’s a really amazing man, and you can read more about him here!

Club Can’t Handle Me is set to be the first single for Flo Rida’s new album, The Only One. It’s really good, but that’s my opinion! Take a listen and see how much you like/hate it!

iOS 4.0.2

12 Aug

I should probably just change this blog to a full-time Apple blog. Pssht. Well Apple released iOS 4.0.2 (for the iPhone) and 3.2.2 (for the iPad) quite recently. And it just killed JailbreakMe.com. Why, you ask? Because now 4.0.2 and 3.2.2 fixes the PDF vulnerability in Safari and other web browsers.

I've already updated to iOS 4.0.2 so ~

Bittersweet moment.

12 Aug

It has been 363 days since I asked John to help me register a website for me and Andrew – 21×8.com . And no don’t bother trying to go there it’s gone.

I still remember how excited I was as I was really happy at that moment and at one point in time, I had 3 domains under me. But now I’m left with only one. :\

Well, today I finally cancelled the website, because I don’t really have a need for it. I mean, nothing happened between me and Andrew but I just felt that I don’t have the blogging bug like I had anymore.

And I just remembered I did not backup the entire server. GG.

Okay so I just terminated it. If you guys are just curious, the host I used was justhost.com . They are really great, and they respond to your support-tickets super fast. If you’re looking for a host choose them!

I recently just found this out on an iPad.

08 Aug

So I *cough*jailbroke*cough* the new iPad my father got, and today I had to restore it because it was giving me crap problems like becoming an iPod Touch -_- Which was totally retarded. Anyway so I restored it and I jailbroke it again ON THE CAR. Well since it’s a 3G version it is easier and I have a microsim along with me. Then I installed SBSettings when I was at my relative’s house since the previous time I jailbroke it I accidentally disabled the 3G via SBSettings and when I restored it I had no idea how to switch 3G on again. And connection via WiFi is much more better than a sucky non-3g connection, so yeah.

Then I got stuck at the apple logo screen for at least 4 hours. -_- I became frantic and searched online with my iPod but to no avail since I wasn’t at home and couldn’t restore it.

Then it hit me. Why not let’s just try holding the home and power button simultaneously and releasing the power button after 10 seconds, then the home button after another 10 seconds?

Yes it worked, but by that time I was about to go home already so I couldn’t do anything with it. ):

Okay so if you have an iDevice and you’re stuck at the apple logo screen, just do what I did! Or if it doesn’t work then GG.

Why a teenager should get an iPhone (if s/he deserves it)

23 Jul

As you guys have probably seen, I blogged about the iPhone 4′s controversy – Antennagate – in the previous post. And I have not been blogging for 6 days so I naturally felt quite bad.

As the title goes, I am going to tell you adults and teens out there why you should get an iPhone 4. Well that is of course, if you deserve it.

Antennagate

17 Jul

Antennagate. It’s all the buzz about the iPhone 4.

Users dub it the “Deathgrip”. What it simply means is that when you hold it out like this:

DEATHGRIP 2010

The iPhone 4′s connection drops so fast, it drops faster than the steel ball I will drop on your leg.

So Apple had to do something about it, and fast because 3million iPhone 4′s are already sold and the return rate is currently at 1.7%, which means about 51,000 iPhone 4′s have been returned by their users. Setback!

The people at 1 Infinite Loop recently held a press conference with many, many journalists attending and broadcasting it by either tweeting or updating their blogs (eg Mashable, Gizmodo, Engadget, bla bla bla). Read the rest of this entry »
